You can now rent Harry Potter's real cupboard under the stairs - but it isn't exactly cheap

Pokey apartments, windowless rooms, spaces you couldn't swing a cat. Any home hunter knows the pain of trying to find a place to call your own.
The struggle is real.
Well, if you're a Harry Potter fan then we have some good news - the cupboard under the stairs is available to rent and it's just £130 a week.
That's a steal right?



Don't get excited just yet. There are a few conditions that may make you change your mind. You have to live with muggles (sigh) and, oh yeah, you have to be under 5ft 4'. Let's just say it gets very cosy in there.
The advert says it's £130 a week, but elsewhere in the ad it adds if you rent the cupboard under the stairs you have to contribute £50-60 each month, no bills, meals or cleaning included... actually you have to clean for the other three muggles already living at No 4 Privet Drive.

It's suddenly not sounding too good, unless you really want the authentic Harry Potter experience. We're hoping the owners aren't as bad as the Dursleys.
But wait. This looks like it's all one big joke, and we were so hopeful. The house isn't the real one in Surrey, but the one re-created at Warner Bros Studio Tour London.




Whether it's a marketing stunt or not, it is available on the renting website.

If you are still interested it's pitched as a "quaint single room in semi-detached home" that's "ideal for those with a ‘minimalist’ lifestyle".
There are a few warnings.
- Dust may attract spiders
- Door only locks from outside
- Not suitable for residents over 5 ft 4 inches
- Will be expected to mix well with the property owners, a family of three Muggles
This is sounding more like the life of a house elf, we'll pass.
