Hector Bellerin in contention to face Hull - but what must Arsenal star do to be given green light to play?


Hector Bellerin is on track to feature for Arsenal after advancing through The FA's concussion protocol.
The Spanish right-back was forced off against Chelsea after taking a blow to the head in an aerial challenge with Marcos Alonso.
The Gunners released a statement on Wednesday to confirm that the 21-year-old had safely advanced to the final stages of the protocol.

"Our Spanish right back is now in the final stages of the FA return to play protocol for concussion," read the statement. "He has had daily assessments and successfully completed each step of the graded progression so far.
"Hector will be further assessed on Thursday and Friday, prior to a final decision being made regarding his availability for full training and Saturday’s home match against Hull City."


Stage 4 - Wednesday

Bellerin is permitted to perform non-contact training but must be cleared by a doctor after another 24 hours before moving on to stage five.

Stage 5 - Thursday?

Bellerin is able to perform full-contact practice before another 24 hours until the earliest return to play.


Stage 6 - Saturday vs Hull?

Day Six: Earliest return to play.

Bellerin was unable to answer questions from Gunners' physio Colin Lewin immediately after the incident.



The full-back was unaware of the score as Lewin sought answers during an on-field test, and was swiftly replaced by Brazilian defender Gabriel.
