Poundland is selling a three-course Valentine's meal for £7 - but the main might get you dumped

If you've got a special someone to spend Valentine's Day with this year, you might be thinking about splashing out on cards, gifts, flowers, chocolates or a nice meal out.
But if you're strapped for cash, it can be hard to find a way to show you care.
Step in, Poundland. They're encouraging hopeless romantics to buy a three-course Valentine's Day meal from their stores and, best of all, it'll only set you back seven quid.
That's just £3.50 per person. Bargain, right?
But you might not think that once you've seen the main course, which will more than likely get you dumped...

The starter

For starters, they recommend 'Crab Bruschetta Antipasto', which is a fancy way of saying 'crab on bread'.

"A wonderfully decadent twist on the classic Italian appetiser.
"Succulent crab meat tops delicately toasted, delicious and light bruschetta with tomato and oregano. Drizzle a little olive oil and balsamic vinegar for that finishing touch!"
  • Bruschetta Tomato & Oregano – £1
  • Princes Crab Meat – £1

The main

Remember, this is the one you only serve if you absolutely hate your other half... 'mouth-watering meatballs with noodles'.

The only catch is that the 'noodles' come courtesy of a Pot Noodle... beef and tomato flavoured, specifically.
"Recreate your own lady and the tramp moment [ are Pot Noodle noodles even long enough for this?!] this Valentine’s Day with tender meatballs and noodles in a rich tomato sauce enhanced by the subtle flavour of herbs and a sprinkling of peas throughout."
  • Look What We Found Italian Beef Meatballs – £1
  • Pot Noodle Beef & Tomato – 2 for £1
  • Batchelors Garden Peas – 3 for £1

Dessert

"Chocolate Treats'? We can get on board with this.

"Indulge in a refined selection of artisanal chocolates that suit a sophisticated pallet."
  • Ferrero Rocher 4 Pack – £1
  • After Dinner Mints- £1
The Pot Noodles in the main didn't go down very well on Poundland's Facebook, with one person commenting: "I am impressed that you can make a whole 3-course meal with items from Poundland but I wouldn't inflict pot noodles on anyone lol (sic)"
Our advice? Maybe buy the Ferrero Rocher and after dinner mints, then pick up a bunch of flowers on the way home for good measure...
