Nintendo scraps 'Project Giant Robot' two years after first revealing the game


Towards the end of last year, two video games notable for their extremely lengthly development finally hit the market: Final Fantasy XV and The Last Guardian .
Sadly, Nintendo couldn't manage the same, as it finally announced that Project Giant Robot is no more. The first-party game, which saw players controlling (unsurprisingly) a giant robot was proclaimed dead to gaming site Kotaku .

"We made this decision after considering our overall product and development strategy,” the company told the gaming site.
Nintendo supremo Shigeru Miyamoto showed off the game at the 2014 E3 conference - demonstrating on Nintendo's failed Wii U console.


The company announced in January that Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will be the last of its games developed for the Wii U.
Understandably, the company is now focusing all its efforts on the forthcoming Nintendo Switch. It has created a brand spanking new trailer to air during the Super Bowl game and is planning to release it on March 3.
