Scientists have NO time for these popular food myths - including about organic and GM items

Going gluten free is healthier for you. Sugar is the devil in food form. Carbohydrates come a close second and low fat diets with ZERO snacking should be embraced.
There are a lot of food theories, myths and fads - not to mention all of the diets. Just when one seems to be on the way out, dozens more swarm in to take its place.
Exemplifying this has been the recent obsession with 'eating clean'.
While transient trends may have the multi-billion dollar diet industry cackle and rub its hands together, what do people who are actually in the know make of all this advice?

Turns out, there's a large amount of exasperation from the scientific community because of the numerous diet and nutrition misconceptions , especially when it comes to the 'eating clean' fad.
