7 things you didn't know about Coca-Cola's Holidays Are Coming advert as truck sets off across the UK
It's a classic which formed a key part of all 90s kids' childhoods
and, this year, the Holidays Are Coming advert turns 21 years old.
But how much do you really know about Coca-Cola's ad - besides the fact it fills you with excitement that Father Christmas is on his way?
As the company's much-loved truck sets off on its journey across the UK , we decided to learn a little more about the iconic Christmassy clip.
Here are 7 things you might not know - plus the low-down on this year's brand new Coca-Cola Christmas advert.

1. In 1931 the iconic Coca-Cola Santa Claus was born – Haddon Sundblom was briefed to create the now iconic Santa imagery
2. Three trucks featured in the original advert and were each covered in 30,000 light bulbs
3. The company behind the Star Wars films, Industrial Light and Magic , made the illuminated lorries more enchanting with special effects
4. ‘Holidays Are Coming’ was shot in Vancouver, Canada and was filmed over a four day period, featuring a cast of over 40 people
5. 'Holidays Are Coming' remains a firm favourite on the UK’s Christmas viewing schedule. In 2007 the ad was replaced with a new commercial but it was brought back onto GB screens within weeks due to popular demand!
6. ‘Holidays Are Coming’ has been viewed over 1.4million times on the official Coca-Cola YouTube channel.
7. The new advert: In 2016, Coca-Cola will also unveil a brand new advert called ‘A Coke For Christmas’.
The ad celebrates the joy of giving over the festive period and features a young boy who spreads joy through gifting the refreshing, uplifting and unique taste of Coca-Cola to those that are making Christmas a reality.
